03/19/09 I'm Off today! Marlene told Ewing to stay home today and get his domestic duties done. Dishwasher duties is something he doesn't have a clue about. It'll be interesting to hear how that works out plus laundry. I might avoid the phone today- nah. Now with the entire day free I don't know what to do. Really. I KNOW I don't feel like any significant activities but some. Hope your day is great! -------------------------------------------------------- 03/18/09 I'm about ready for a nap. A 4:00 am wake up run for an airport trip and helping Shorty disassemble a lawn mower for the engine he wants and I have an hour and a half till I begin the hospital run. I'll probably get home from that about 2:00 and then I'll be off for the day! I Hope! Not that I have a lot going on but it does get a little complex. I have lots of "projects" that I'd like to get on with but none that I'd like to leave sit for the most part of everyday. That's why I have trouble starting inside projects - I hate to have things torn up and sitting. If it's torn up let's get on with it and "get her done." I guess that about all I have for today- I think I'll take a book outside till time to leave. . . -------------------------------------------------------- 03/17/09
There is your St. Patty's day chuckle.
Things continue here. A hospital run is due shortly and I've been waiting for my e-mail to arrive this morning. I'm not sure and open to suggestions about my ISP or whatever. Sometimes e-mail is a day late or never arrives at all. It's kind of frustrating as someone was trying to send me a document that is important. We got that handled another way. I checked my filters and the ISP's filters etc. I haven't even gotten the weather forecast so I won't know how to dress appropriately today (chuckle). Ah the trials of technology. Ah the trials of trying to use technology and being WAY behind the curve. Marlene's condition remains OK and there's hopes of her being transferred out of IC soon. I'm behind in my e-mails and maybe I'll get a few out this morning before I have to leave. These hospital runs are different when Ewing is going. He usually only stays an hour or two. It's often 30 minutes + for the return to home run so I'm left with "to stay and wait" or " drive home and wait." Anyway it's handled it pretty well takes up the morning or afternoon. -------------------------------------------------------- 03/16/09 In spite of fairly active scheduling the weekend was nice. A lot of courtyard time and yard work. Shorty got busy and painted all three of the steel security doors- that was nice and he did a good job. The new paint makes them look like new- it's not something you'd notice but before they just didn't look "cared for." Besides it'll contribute to their longevity, hopefully. The tomato count is up by one. I should have checked to see how long they've been in the ground but I didn't. The plants are looking great though. "How long" is just another of those "whatever is - is" deals. It's about time to leave on my morning run (drive) and I'm not sure if I'll be coming right back home or waiting. Ewing usually doesn't stay long so I may seek out some breakfast while waiting or do a little necessary shopping. I'm taking a book just in case. I've really been fighting crab grass this year. It may sound silly but when you have a 12x20 lawn it seems like it SHOULD be golf course greens quality. I've tried two crab grass killers that didn't and resorted to a device that takes out about an inch diameter that IF you get it directly over the root system it removes the crab grass including roots pretty easily. It doesn't take long for the tiny depression to disappear. We'll see how well it really gets the roots in a couple of weeks. If you read me gripping about crab grass again you'll know I didn't get all the roots.
