Computer Miscellany
I have been enchanted by computers since I first used one when I was nineteen (over half a lifetime ago). The CPU was the size of a very large refrigerator; I know my desktop computer has more memory than it did. The floppy disks we used for backup were about 10 inches across. I don't remember how much data they stored, but it wasn't much. The thought of buying a program off a shelf was a fantasy. If a problem arose, or we needed a new program, we had to call a programmer. A lot has changed in twenty-something years. :)
