    Many libraries have made their collections of public domain music available for download.

    The American Sheet Music Collection at the Library of Congress contains hundreds of works for flute and piano that span the years 1820 to 1885.

    The Sibley Music Library at the University of Rochester has made their collection of public domain music available for download. Search both the music collection and the flute listings.

    The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's 19th-Century American Sheet Music Digitization Project contains many early works for flute in a variety of settings.

    Denmark's Royal Library (The National Library and Copenhagen University Library) allows the searcher to view and download hundreds of digitized scores in pdf format.
