"FEATS OF CLAY" is a family run studio of Bob and Carol Hayden, makers of
fine American Style RAKU pottery. Bob does all the wheel work, both do slab
and assembled pieces. Each piece is designed in their own individual styles.
Bob usually decides, with Carols input, which color or special effect glazes
go to specific areas of the design. Both do the glazing, but Bob does all
the RAKU firing. Each piece is dated with the year and signed by the artist/potter
to copyright the design and color combinations. The shapes are not copyrighted.
Similar designs may be reused, but the glazed areas are usually different.
No two pieces can be duplicated exactly because the firing will change them
in several ways, making them one of a kind. This makes them wonderful pieces
for your home or a great personal and/or Company gift that is truly UNIQUE
and will be extremely appreciated. Enjoyment is what its all about.
