THE YEAR TWO THOUSAND BUG, SOCIAL AND MORAL UNREST, A STOCK MARKET CRASH, RIOTING AND LOOTING, CRIME, THEFT, MURDER, DRUG ABUSE, ALCHOOL ABUSE, AND MUCH MORE.
WITH THE IMPENDING PROBLEMS THAT WE WILL FACE IN THE DAYS TO COME, MANY PEOPLE ARE CRYING OUT TO PREPARE OUR SELVES. SOME SAY TO PURCHASE AND STORE UP FOOD AND WATER. OTHERS SAY THAT WE SHOULD ARM OUR SELVES WITH GUNS TO WARD OFF THE ONSLOUGHT OF CRIME THAT WILL TAKE PLACE. YET OTHERS ARE SELLING THE IDEA OF BUYING GOLD AND SILVER SO THAT WE WILL HAVE A FINANCIAL MEANS IN WHICH TO TRADE WITH.
WHILE I DO BELIVE THAT WE ARE GOING TO FACE TOUGH TIMES IN THE FUTURE, I DO NOT FALL INTO THE CAMP THAT SAYS TO PREPARE OURSELVES WITH THE MATERIALS OF THE WORLD. JESUS HAS SAID THAT:
LOOK TO JESUS FOR THE ANSWER!
19 Do not collect treasures for yourself and store them here on earth, where the bugs and the weather will ruin them, and where the thieves will steal the things that you have collected:
20 But collect treasures for yourself in heaven, where the bugs and the weather will not ruin them, and where the thieves will not steal the things that you have collected:
21 For where your treasure is, this also is where your heart will be.
22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore your eye is only looking upon one thing, your whole body shall be full of light.
23 But if your eye is looking upon evil, your whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is of darkness, how great is that darkness!
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will favor the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and the riches of this world.
25 Therefore I say to you, Take no thought for your life, what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor do not worry for your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
26 Look at the fowls of the air: for they do not sow, nor do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they?
27 Which of you by worrying about the things of this world can add one inch to his stature?
28 And why do you worry about clothing for your body? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they don't toil, neither do they look for protection:
29 And yet I say to you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God clothes with splendor the grass of the field, which today is alive, and tomorrow is baked in the oven, shall He not clothe you all the more, O you of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What will we eat? or, What will we drink? or, how will we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the unsaved seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things will be added to you.
34 Take therefore no thought for tomorrow: for tomorrow will take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient to the day is the evil thereof.
Matthew 6:19-34
Jesus said to him, If you want to be perfect, go and sell all that you own, and give everything to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
