My Trip to India - March 2005
Here are some views of the hotel I stayed in. The reflecting pools were beautiful, the halls huge and the courtyard very attractive.

Our driver told us that this was the
Indian Goddess "Shiva".
I think he said it was the goddess of snakes
The traffic is horrific.
As you can see it is bumper to bumper -- which is normal.
Three marked lanes seemed to be more of a suggestion rather than a rule.

I have never heard so many cars honking at the same time.
It was non-stop.
The cars, bicycles, motorcycles, busses, etc. were all weaving in and out of the lanes, passing one another and always on the move.

The poverty is incredible and it is impossible to imagine what kind of lives many of these people face on a day to day basis.

The little yellow and green taxis are all over.
They look like a three-wheeled golf carts!

Street vendors sold all sort of things from their street side shops.
Although we never stopped, we could see clothing, pottery, produce and other things as well.

This is India gate. It is an attraction that draws many people to visit. You can see all of the visitors nearby in the above photo. Our driver could not explain more about this.

We saw many cows on our drive to and from work. I only managed to get a partial photo here as the car was always going very fast, in spite of the traffic. We also saw one elephant walking down the street.
